The Mordheim Campaign by Antanar
Most of the people at our club are new to warhammer, and don't have big enough armies yet. So until they do, we are running a Mordheim Campaign using mine and David's warbands. I am using my Skaven, David's using his Bretonians, Matt is using David's dad's Sisters of Sigmar, and Michael is using David's Dwarfs. However we still have another skaven warband and two mercanry warbands waiting to be used by other club members. I will bring you updates of the campaign every week on this page, so watch this space.

Campaign Update
31-3-01
To start the campaign off, we had a four way battle using mine, David's, Matt's, and Michael's warbands. We were using the Burning Building rules in Town Cryer, which had a funny result (on one turn every single building was on fire). The battle resulted in a draw. My Sorcerer, a giant rat, and my verminkin with a sling got burnt to death in a building, David's Questing Knight leader got taken out of action by a lucky slingshot, Michael's dwarfs spent the entire game escaping from their deployment zone which was all ablaze, and Matt's sisters of sigmar's leader fell down a hole and was stuck there for the entire game. All the caualties recovered, and my night runner gained a bonus. At the end of the battle, I hired three extra verminkin, and i've no idea what everyone else purchased. Next week we will have two battles going on at the same time, to speed up the campaign.

This week we had to battles, me versus Matt, and David versus Michael. In my battle, my great mass of verminkin and giant rats, led by the eshin sorcerer, overwhelmed Matt's Augur, one novice, and two sisters. However, my Night Runner, Assassin, and my Black Skaven were outnumbered and overwhelmed by the Martriach, the Sister Superiors, another Novice, and all the other Sisters. I then failed my rout test and lost. My Assassin got a new skill from this experience, and I chose Strike to Injure. My Black Skaven suffered Horrible Scars, and will cause fear from now on. One of my Verminkin slingers didn't make it back to camp alive, but apart from that, everyone excaped without a scrath. In Exploration, I found three shards, but nothing interesting. I then hired a black skaven called Skratch, another giant rat, and bought some dark venom for my assassin. Matt's warband suffered severe losses, and a sister and a novice were killed. However his sister superior became hardened, and I'm not quite sure what else happened except he found a jewelled sword and dagger in an overturned cart. On the other board, don't ask me what was going on, but from what I heard Michael's newly hired engineer suffered a smashed leg, and the Dwarfs just stayed back, keeping away from the buring buildings in front of them. Michael is not getting on very well with the Dwarfs, so he's going to try out my Reiklanders and David's Middenheimers to see what he get's on best with.

Today David came round forsome quiet Mordheim games away from the club. First, we had a small skirmish. I won. My Assassin was taken out of action, and now holds a bitter emnity towards David's Bretonians. My now Fear-causing Black Skaven caused a man-at-arms to flee, but then he rallied and took out the black skaven. I got the skill Art of Silent Death for my Assassin, my Black Skaven suffered an arm wound, and the Night Runner became a skilled Knife fighter. My Sorcerer was taken out and suffered an arm wound, he would miss the next battle. Next, we fought another skirmish but on a larger battle. My Assassin was slain again, and David won. I found halberd amongst a ruined smithy, and lots of money. My Assassin got step aside, and the Sorcerer got the Eye of the Warp spell. Next, we fought a treasure hunt. My Sorcerer and his rats found the treasure almost straight away, and when the black Skaven came to help him they took the treasure away while the Assassin and his minions held up the Bretonians. However, five skeletons errupted from the ground and were going to stop my sorcerer and black skaven, but then an oger ran in and smashed them apart. David then hired the oger for his warband. I gave my Assassin the skill Dodge, and the Night Runner got eagle eyes. The last battle was a breakthrough, with none of mine being taken out. However the random happenings roll caused my Black Skaven and David's Errant Knight to charge into combat. I stunned the knight and was going to take him out when David volentarily routed, and the game ended. My Sorcerer got the skill sorcery, and I found a hired sword returning a favour, but decided not to hire him. My warband is now very rich and ready for battle once more.
